Hi!

We have been using the meet me conference feature in IP Office for quite some time and it works pretty well.

We've run into a situation where two different groups in our organization would like to have meet me conferences for their teams separately.

Is this possible to do?

So far with my testing i have two different short codes that are linked to an incoming call route, but callers from each line end up in the same conference.

IP office 406v2 running 4.2.(23)

TIA!

Conference meet me SC =

*98*XXX#
N
Conference meet Me

Users can create/enter any numbered conference.
For conference 1 dial 100 as XXX and for conference 2 dial 101 as XXX etc.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much

I used a variation of your post and got this to work! Thanks for the note about being able to specify the conference number in the shortcode. :)

You can have multiple conference bridges at the same time.
But you only have 64 channels and you can have 2 of 32 participants or 10 of 6 participants etc etc.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Indeed, I read that in another post about having only a total of 64 channels available for conferencing. We would run out of PRI channels for people calling in before that became an issue ;)

Thanks for the additional info!

You can create voicemail pro scripts to handle conference keys and codes, we set up flows to allow 18 conference calls simultaneously over 4 PRIs and the VOIP lines on our primary IP 500V2, its a little less polished compared to the Conference Centre option, but it does work. If you want to know more, let me know and I can export the call flows we use.

Look at the menuConference section. Every user gets their own bridge and their own user controlled PIN. ZERO configuration to add additional bridges for new users and works for all users on an SCN.

this is pretty cool... you don't even have to create SC's for the the individual bridges/users as Conference Meet Me's?

There are some bits of it I don't understand conceptually though:
1) What is the purpose of the *# on hte first menu?
2) I can't figure out how the whole moderator thing is working, and why the moderated bridge queue is off floating by itself.

Very elegant looking. I wish i knew EXACTLY what it was doing. Most of it I get though.

one short code 555N; Conference Meet Me N is used. The *# connects to the "Home" action to take the user back to the main menu, assuming that is how they got to the conference menu.

The moderated bridge is an option that I have not documented at this point.

Hi All
star to you Kyle, I was looking for a conferencing solution and I have noticed that noone has given you a star in a while for all your hard work on conferencing you have done.

My problem is:
need a conferecing solution where a user can't change a bridge pin if there is a conference call active in that bridge. this would prevent other users using the same bridge number, changing the pin and jumping onto the active bridge.

I'm thinking of using counters and increments along with the 15 cp values to store the variables but I know it's going to take a lot of time working out which I don't have, so if anyone has done something similar in the past can they share?

Cheers
Dave
