is it possible to have the Dos box scroll, in NT this is done via properties, but in win 98 the option is not there, is there a way to do this in win 98,

chanks,

Pilg.

Its possible the same way as u do in winNT Alternatively use <Alt>+Enter and the set the window size.

It's not possible on my Win98 machine.

Create a shortcut to c:\windows\command.com
In the properties of that shortcut increase the buffer size to 50. This allows the textual information within the session to be saved in a larger buffer, thereby allowing scrolling.

TekKnowGeek,

Could you please explain where the settings for the buffer size are, I've created the shortcut and looked in the properties, but I can't find anything there. Am I missing something? I'm using Win98.

Hello all.

It is only possible to make the frame hold more lines but not that to get a scroll bar, though, without the help of 3rd party utility.

c:...>mode con lines=50 <hard enter>

Yes. That is the point.

In the properties of the shortcut to c:\windows\command.com, the "screen" tab contains an option to modify the number of lines buffered for that command session. You must remember that you are using Windows98, which only creates a virtual DOS environment. You were also not able to scroll in pure DOS either. The main idea is to display as much of the textual information as possible from within the session.

tsuji,

Thanks for explaining.
I had higher hopes than that resolution.
