Hi,
is it possible to define "CUSTOM PROPERTIES" for all shapes in a stencil once or for at least a few shapes at the same time?

How does it work with VISIO 2002?

Background:
I have to define custom properties for shapes. These shapes are all saved in the same stencil. It is very annoying to define this custom properties over and over again for each shape instead define the custom properties once for the stencil or at least for a few shapes at the same time.

Please help, thanks.

You can edit all the shapes in stencil edit mode and define properties. While defining properties, you can either "hard code" the properties if you dont want to change them everytime you use the shape. Alternately, or define the properties to be asked for when dropped in a drawing page. I have done this successfully very extensively for hundreds of shapes in several stencils. If I have your email ID, I can try to send the sample stencil.

I think the Custom Property Sets option is what you are looking for. This is an add-on that comes with Visio 2002 that enables you to create "sets" of custom properties that you can apply to selected shapes on the drawing page, or to all shapes in a stencil.

You can find the add-on in either Tools > Add-ons > Visio Extras, or in Tools > Macros > Visio Extras. The first add-on lets you define the sets of properties, and is called "Edit Custom Property Sets". Once you have defined the properties, you can apply them to shapes using the "Apply Custom Properties Sets" add-on, found in the same location.
