I know it's okay to round floppy cables and normal HD cables. But reading through the forums, I have heard mention about cross over talk on some SCSI cables. Will that happen with UDMA cables? Thanks in advance.
You can round UDMA cables. The "crosstalk" or electrical interferance occurs at the connector not on the wires. I would round with 2 or 4 conductor splits. Be very careful splitting these cables cause each conductor must have the insulation on them (no bare wires), which is very hard to do considering the size of the conductor and thickness of the insulation.
Another option you might try is just to "round" the cables with electrical tape. Carefully fold the cables and wrap with electrical tape. That way your not slicing into the cable and possibly destroying it.
I did find a place online that sold rounded UDMA cables for like $20. You can save some cash doing it yourself, unless your like me and don't have the patience to sit with an exacto knife and spend an hour cutting up IDE cables, and end up throwing them in the trash cause a bare wire is exposed.
