I seem to have a huge problem using photoshop with files on Mapped Drives. I am using photoshop 7.0.1 and here is my problem. I will be working with files on my server when I try to save a file as a different name or use "save for web" command. The error I get is a Disk Error when I look on the server it saves the new file there but it is 0 KB and can't be open. If I try to resave the file I get an error saying the file is already open or in use, when there are no files open. Is this a photoshop bug???? The only way I can free the file is to reboat my computer or wait for about 5 mins before reaccessing it.

i worke with mapped servers from a Win2k machine and have no problems . The only time I experience that , is when the server goes down (for some reason) and I can't save to that server.

Try saving it locally and then moving it over to your drive.

that does work, but it doesn't seem like a so called great way to do it. I would much rather like to edit the item on the server and have never had this problem until I upgraded to Photoshop 7.0. :(

Yes - I get this too. Saving locally works and is fine for some people. But if working with web images on a development site it doubles development time.

I can;t find a workaround - be very interested in any solutions

Is photoshop on your hard drive?
photossop on servers do not work to well.
And how about your scratch disc make sure you have plenty of
room, when you do a save as you are using a lot more of your scratch disc.
