Hi everyone,

For a second week I work on the problem. I have a Cisco VPN client loaded on the laptop. Using dialup connection I am trying to connect to PIX 501 without any success.

This is the error:

Secure VPN connection terminated locally by the client
Reason: The remote peer is no longer responding.

Cisco engineer is trying to figure this out as well. The PIX 501 is connected to the Cisco 1720 router. At this point I am beginning to doubt the VPN ability of PIX 501 firewall. I will post ,my config for you gays to check.

I appreciate any input.

Thank you,

Alex.

Apart from the question whether the PIX config is correct or not, please check whether in the 1720 router traffic for UDP port 4500 is open. This is a must if using NAT traversal.
Had the same problem with my PIX515E and router.
