Hello boys and girls,

Any CMS gurus out there? I need to know if cms root is really root or whether there is another level - I am pretty sure there is...

The ID "root" on a CMS server is the traditional UNIX root.

Cheers.

In addition to 'root' Lucent/Avaya has created a 'root2' login for their use. root & root2 are equal in capabilities and "own" the box. The customer is free to change the 'root' password for their own security. Avaya manages the 'root2' password.

although you can change the password on root2 from root by typing PASSWD root2 at the prompt

(handy if you are self-maintaining and don't want Avaya to dial in)
