Is CE8.0 Standard Compatable with CR 9.0?

I have CR 8.5 Pro and distribute thru CE 8.0 standard which came free. Has anyone upgraded to CR 9.0 and still used CE 8.0 for distribution. We are a small company so the 5 seat restriction won't bother us.

No the reports designed in CR9 are not compatible with any
lower versions of CE(8 or 8.5). CE9 is in controlled Beta test and
expected to be released shortly.

In fact, CR9 and CE8/8.5 should not be installed on
the same server because of incompatible files.
