Is there a simple way of determining if a workbook is open? I'm looking for something like this:

If Workbooks("Provider Rates.xls").IsOpen = True Then
ProviderRatesCloseButton.Enabled = True
Else ProviderRatesCloseButton.Enabled = False
End If

a quick search on "if workbook is open" returns lots of threads - this one is the mosat obviously connected to your query: thread707-891313

Thanks for pointing me to that thread I appreciate it and it has solved my problem,

I did search but people tend to ask questions like "HELP!!!!!!!?" rather than "Is Workbook Open?". Most the the results of my searching brought up threads that contained huge sections of code that solved the problem in a very roundabout way. My original question was "...is there a simple way...? and my initial (and not too thorough) searching gave me the answer; No.

The answer I was looking for was either "Yes there is - this is it..." or "no there isn't."

I realise answering questions that may have already been answered before can be a pain (pretty much once a month I have to help Pam drag windows back into the centre of the screen so she can see the minimize/maximize/close buttons) but I figure the whole point of a forum is to quickly answer questions and solve problems. If I had the time to search through all the potentially relevant posts I would have the time to solve the problem myself.

Sorry for any hassle caused.

Regards

Westicle

took me about 30 seconds to find that thread and the code from byundt is hardly a huge section of code.

All we ask is that you have a look before posting - whilst you are correct that this is a forum, it is NOT a helpdesk - we are not here to just give out answers - we are here to help people learn - there is a BIG difference
