hello,

i am running XP Pro. i have a need to be able to manually steer irq for my devices. i freshly installed the OS, pressing F5 during setup to select "Standard PC" in lieu of "ACPI." i thought that this would give me the ability to manually assign irq, but found that it doesn't. XP still has the "Use automatic settings" checkbox checked and grayed out for all my devices. in device manager it does reflect "Standard PC" and i even went in and disabled "IRQ Steering."

the BIOS for my board does not give the ability to manually assign each device, only to select between ISA or PCI/PNP. how can i make XP let me choose my interrupts?

system specs:
amd athlon 1GHz
768 MB PC133 RAM
abit KT7-Raid MB with most recent BIOS update
windows xp pro

tia!

Windows XP is a PlugnPlay OS. If you set the BIOS to a non-plugnplay OS it should allow you to reserve some of the IRQs.
