IRPStackSize of 8 is being reported wrong size in System Event Viewer of W2K Client's Registry Key LanmanServer\Parameters. What should it be ? 16 ?

Associated Problem:
New Outlook 2000 (Corp or Workgroup) mail client setup cannot find our Exchange Server.
Logged in as Administrator but "Check Name" fails in Mail applet.
Error msg says the name could not be resolved, Exchange Address Book was unable to logon to the Exchange Server computer.
Windows Explorer on same W2K client can browse to and "find" the Exchange Server OK. All other clients and servers up and running fine, no problems.
Using DHCP on NT4.
Uninstalled and re-installed Office 2000, same situation. Any suggestions?

For the Outlook problem try changing the protocol binding order (search Microsoft site for "protocol binding order"). Outlook client will timed out if the protocol order is not correct. Also, you can use the RPC utility to test connectivity between Exchange server and client. This will provide you with info about what protocol is used by client to connect to Exh. server. Try to enter the Exch. server IP address instead of name in mail profile.

Thanks for the response. A fresh copy of Win2K solved the problem before I had a chance to fully resolve the connection problem. Next time, the RPC Utility and the actual IP address will be tested. Thanks.

IPStackSize should be 11 in DEC.
find it in the registry and change it.....
