Hi,
can you please let me know, how to remove the viurses/trojans IRC Flood and backdoor gl
O/S: W2K Professional
I use McAfee updated to newest one, run it 3 times nothing came up, my boss called me saying she is still infected and it came up with these 2: IRC Flood and backdoor gl

It says she can not delete nor clean the files.
How can I delete them
I was also reading about uninstalling any MIRC Software, what would this be? As far as I know she is not using any unusal software (Office 2000 Prof, Sony Clie), she does connect after hours via cable modem to the internet.

Thanks for all the help.
I will not be able to try any suggestions, until she comes back from her business trip.

But I will keep good notes. Thanks again

If windows is using the files, you may have to remove the registry key first, and then reboot before you can remove them.
The link above wasnt too specific.

She can also use any online virus scan. One is here:

Usually it is passed on through forwards of joke software etc. This one will allow access to the computer through an MIRC client, which is an internet chat client. It installs when you execute the file.

If you have any more questions feel free to post again.

Good Luck!
Kimber

The more I learn,I realize how much more there is to know!
