Could someone give me some information on the IRAD that is supposed to be on a CICS? I am not familiar with this option or how to use it...

In the newer software versions, the IRAD is not assigned to answer a line, so you have to give it a line assignment if you want it to answer remotely. The IRAD is designed to work with Nortel NRU software (Nortel Remote Utilities) that can be downloaded from Nortel if you have access.

On site, I use an external IRAD tied to a station with direct connect to do backups and programming.

External IRAD, sounds like an oxymoron. lol

Adversity is Opportunity

there are three caviats on the software, you can look it up by the SP number in the FAQ's or if you look at the software cartridge you will see it is CICS - XXX 6.1 S/w
with the XXX being:
S - Standard or R Restricted
I - IRAD on or blank for IRAD off
P - Prompts on or blank for Prompts off (auto attendent)

for what you are looking for you should see an I after CICS and before the software level.

it may be turned on with a keycode on a non-irad enabled system (I've only seen that once though)
