Hi,

I have problem with a new ext on our IPS2000 system. I just set up a new ext on a spare LEN and tested. I can call other extensions but there is no ringing tone when the extension is called except for the red indicator signalling an incoming call. You are able to answer any incoming call. There is something else. When I attempted to call from this extension, upon lifting the handset I could hear a conversation....crossline? Using CM 14 I have deleted and reassigned the ext but the problem persists.

Any suggestion?

Gile

Check ring assignment in CMD 9001.
EX: for x-2000
9001>2000,01>1 = ring. 0 = no ring. 01 is the button number.

I have tried it using MATworx but giving the following,

9001>ext,01>
DATA ERROR

Am I entering the codes wrongly?
Am familiar with Martwox.

Thanks,
G1le.

when you entered 09001>ext,01 are you simply hiding the extn number or are you actually trying to enter that? if you are actually entering the number then the odds are that the dterm isn't that extn number. Are you sure this is the true number of the extension or just what is set as the prime line of the Dterm. about the only two ways to find the true number is to either trace the cabling back to the system and work out which Len it is connected to or list up all the Lens and note all the Digitals (Fx/x/xx) and then check the primes of all of them in Cmd 93.

You need to be sure you are programming the right extension!

Thanks Ozziegeorge. I think the problem is associated with a call forward? When I tried calling a certain number(from this problem ext) the call was diverted to another extension. I later called this particular extension and was informed that the phone had being ringing earlier on. How can I cancel call forward using MATworx?

Thanks,

G!le.

I'm sorry but I'm now confused as to what the problem is! Please re-state your question!

Hello, Gile

Command 9001 is for digital phone assingning multiline extension and this command defines weather the extension assinged on the multiline button will ring or not and by default this is enabled.

To check your problem first identify if what type of terminal are you assingning is it digital or analog second you must be sure if the LEN whre you assign the extension is same port that your phone is terminated on the equipment terminal and third double check your euipment cabling side be sure that the cable is not split because if it is split then cross line party is possible because you are getting another line from the split pair of equipment cabling...

assigning extension is simple for digital you must assign in 14>LEN: Fxxx, 9000>Fxxx,01:xxx, 93>xxx:xxx for anaolg you just assign on 14>LEN:xxx, and ringer wont be a problem not unless the ring tone genarator unit(RGU) of the power supply for the PIM where the extension you are assigning is deffective check if all the locals on that PIM don't have ringer then it is a power supply problem digital phone has it's own ring tone generator unit (RGU) so digital wont be affected even if the RGU of the power supply is deffective.

Hi Abcom, it sure is a split cable. This new extension is also on ADSL. I just re-traced the wiring and found that there was a split at the ADSL register with another pair.Re-attached the pairs with the correct pins and the problem is solved, proper ringing tone and no cross-line.WOW!

Thanks a million abcom, Ozziegeorge and belevedere for your assistance.
