We just picked up a new customer that is currently using a Zoltsys IP phone system, and has been happy with the features. He is spinning off a new business at a new location, and is interested in IPOffice, but wants a similar feature set to what he has now. This includes the PC interface that shows call information, and a similar handset.

Is anyone available that can assist me with some questions?

Is it a Zultys system? If so, then it is rather inexpensive, especially if you are comparing it to an IP Office with PC clients. If they did not desire the PC interface then the price may work out for the Avaya, but adding in things like that brings the cost higher.

Out of interest, if they are happy with the Zultys in one office why would they buy a different system in the new office? It would make the most sense to stick with the system that they like; it prices well and can be networked together if they desire....it seems like a waste of time to try and quote against something they already like and have. If they did not like it then that would be a different story.

I don't sell Zultys, this is really just an observation on the situation....one could replace Zultys with almost any other system and my advice would be the same. If you sell Zultys just sell em' another.

We don't sell Zultys. And, while they were happy with the system, they did not feel that the reseller in our state was as knowledgeable as they would have liked. I thought that with IPOffice, at least there would be sufficient resources available. I also didn't realize that there was a big cost difference.

Would you be available to chat for a few minutes?

I can make myself available....but I am not sure how much use I am. My limited knowledge of Zultys is based on a rep trying to get us to sell it instead of Avaya and Shoretel....which we were not interested in. He showed me some list pricing and brochures, but that was about 2 years ago now. From what I recall it was priced well, like most inexpensive SIP systems, but we were just not interested in bringing on a small manufacturer with another SIP system at the time. Avaya prices well overall, but when one starts adding in applications like the PC clients and such Avaya starts to go higher, still reasonable compared to other top manufacturers, but more expensive than inexpensive SIP systems like Zultys, Grandstream, etc.

Thank you for your responses. This particular customer is more interested in stability and reliability than cost. It is a 6-person office, so I'm not sure how big of a cost difference there will be. I have not priced out any of the inexpensive SIP systems.
