Hi Guys,
I have an IPOffice 412 and I am using a an avaya UPAM that is connected to an analog station port, Ext 7500, paging speaker, short code *78, feat dial paging, tel 7500, grp 0, but it doesn't work. External paging works only when connected to a Trunk analog port.

Can someone please help?

Thanks.

i have alot of paging systems out there and i have always had problems using station ports. is there any reason you cant use a trunk port?

I have no issues using station ports, it is my preferred method, which I only vary from if I have no other option. It is so much more flexible, and has so many more options than trunk port.

I have always used a station port as well. Really nice if you have some phones in a group for paging and you also make the analog station port a member - simultaneous paging over phones and overhead loudspeakers. I have noticed that on some releases if I have had to perform a reboot config change, the paging would quit working. I have always had great luck with connecting a 600 ohm input directly to the station port, but sometimes depending on the release of IPO I have taken an old pots phone and placed in-line with the paging port before the paging amp and left it off-hook. Problem solved. But like I say, it has varied between releases. (2.1.x all the way up to 3.2.x - haven't checked on 4.0 - only running that in our office not at any customers yet.

dphoneguy,
The UPAM has a wmt-1a or something like that in the box, which is a matching transformer, to 600 ohm if I recall correctly. Connected across the tip, and ring of the station port, with the transformer output to the paging input eliminates the need to use a phone in the mix. I have used this on probably release 2-3.2
I have not tried it on 4.0 yet.

The transformer output can be modified to feed a MIC input, Hi-Z RCA input, and is also available from Bogen without the UPAM. I have put dozens of these in this way with no problems.
