Hi,
On the IPO406 3.2, when a user picks up a parked call, the first button press gives the parked call information, then the second button press would pick up the call.
On version 6.1 on IPO500v2, pressing the parked button once picks up the call and I have found no way to duplicate the old system's parked call function. Is there a feature I missed for this? I am so frustrated almost to a point of downgrading to an older software level.

Thanks.

You can't go much further back unless you downgrade the system hardware as well :)

Is IP500v2 lowest supported software version 5.x? If so, does 5.x have the call park feature from 3.2 as stated in my original post?

Thanks.

It will not go to 5.0, lowest it goes is 6.0 and I imagine that will work much the same as it does now. But I must say I have never known it to work the way you describe but I started installing at 3.2/4.0 changeover. If everyone screened the parked call though it would go unanswered :)

That's precisely why we want that feature back, for call screening.
I have done lots of searching but still no answer as to why that feature is taken out, nor did I find anyway to program the Park/Ride feature manually to function the same way.

If someone knows something, please post. I am desperate.

Who is parking the calls? Why aren't they screening the calls? Perhaps if you describe the eay you have things working/set up we can suggest something more fitting :)

Hi amriddle01,
Here is the call flow steps:

1. Operator group answers a call.
2. A call is parked in a slot and the intended recipient is paged identifying which park it was placed.
3. The recipient goes to an open phone and press the corresponding parked button.
4. The first button press should show the caller ID information of the parked call.
5. If the recipient wants to pick up the call, then he can do so. Otherwise, he ignores it.
6. If parked call is ignored, it goes back to Operator group and operator will tell caller the recipient could not be reached.

Right now, we don't have the option of screening for calls in parks with version 6.1. This feature was built-in at version 3.2.

Why not just announce the caller when they page the recipient, no need for screening the call then, it works how it works and can't be changed so you may have to :)

We don't announce the caller's ID, for privacy issues. Loud paging is company wide, in multiple buildings and most desk phones so everyone hears it. Also, it would not be very professional.

What phones are you using?

Can you perhaps scroll to the park slot with the navigation button? I know this works for blf buttons.

And what about just transfering a call to a user? They can choose to ignore it then.

Don't panic or get desperate. There are a gazillion advantages of 6.1 over 3.2 that will make your life easier.
If you can't get it to work somehow don't go back to 5.0 or lower (with older hardware as well). You will be using unsupported software in a professional environment. Your problem may seem disastrous somehow. If this is your only 'issue' with a 3.2 to 6.1 upgrade, YOU are one of the lucky few...

And on a side note, screening calls is not very professional either ;)

6.0 and up:

· Call Park Button Enhancement
The operation of the Call Park button has been enhanced to display details of parked calls. This allows the user to select whether to unpark a call or to cancel the action.

Very sleepy now, can't verify it for you right now...

Denny is right.

Before 6.0 pressing the button would get the call and from 6.0 you will get caller info first and a second press would get the call.
So i really do not understand that this works the opposite way for you.

But what phones do you use
This behavior is for 14/16 or 9600 phones.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

This call screening option only works for 14xx, 16xx and 96xx phones NOT for 24xx, 54xx or 56xx phones.

I am running 4412D+ and 6408D phones on IPO500v2. Both phones behave the same way. I think this is now the norm for these phones.

I know on software ver 3.2 in IPO406v2, these phones worked perfectly.

I think on software ver 4.x+, "Park Call" is changed to "Call Park" and the feature is changed, and only the smarter phones can recognize the feature.

Thanks for all the help.

As per Denny's suggestions:

Transfer calls to extension: Not an option. Many employees don't have phones so paging them is the only option and they have to use the closest phone.

Park calls to un-numbered slots can only be picked up by the same user, which is no good for my circumstance.

Unless someone has a definitive solution, I am calling it quits.

Thanks again.

You bought a new system but re-used crappy old handsets, that's the real issue. If you get some nice new shiney sets the feature will work as you want and you get all the features you didn't in 3.2 :)

or you can use Softconsole or Phone manager to park and label calls - does it label it on the phone though? hmmmmm...

as of 7.0 those phones aren't supported anymore if i'm not mistaken.

Start replacing your phones or leave it like this...
