thread940-1644041 I am wondering how this works with a Valcom 2001a. What is the correct way to programm a trunk port. Does this setup require any interface between the Valcom and IPO500.

Use a analog station port setup as a paging port, disable MWI and number presentation, give it a phone number.
Create a user with the same telephone number.
Power cycle IP Office.
Now you can dial the above users telephone number and announce your success....

When you say give it a phone number do you mean an extension number? And when you say create a user do you mean a short code to the extension?

....
In IP Office you have phone extensions and users.
The phone is at a fixed location and it has a extension number.
A user can be on any extension but if the users phone number equals a extension then the user will be linked to that extension.
So... you have a extension and to be able to let the extension ring there must be a user linked with it.

Did I mention shortcodes? No.
