We can dial out to most number just fine.
But when we try to dial any number with 678-336-XXXX we get an incompatible message.
This is the first time we've ever had this reported and the local number work fine if you call from another line not on our system (like your cell).
The 678-336-XXXX numbers are at another company unrelated to us and not on our system.

We have 1608-I and 6408D+ handsets mainly.

I've been working in the phone system a lot the past few days is it possible something got changed by mistake?

Does the 9N need to be in the ARS table's open box or just a short code that links to the correct group ID?
What's weird is that almost all external numbers work fine by dialing 9 then the number but it seems to just be ones with the ((area code)and 336 prefix)

9N usually will send the N to the ARS table.
The N is then used to match to the ARS Code for outdialing.

For example, 9678-336-xxxx will send 678-336-xxxx to the ARS table, where it will then find a matching code, dialout, and line group.

You will need to watch what happens with the call in SSA or Monitor to truly see why it is failing.

Here's a picture of the Shortcode for the 9N and our ARS on our system.
Part of me thinks this is on AT&T's end and not an Avaya situation since other phone numbers work fine to dial out to.

Sure looks fine to me, I think it's AT&T's issue as well :)

Thanks for the reassurance amriddle01. Now we play the waiting game on AT&T. I've had a support ticket in with them waiting on a call back from Tier 2 for 2 days now. So we'll see how that goes. Thanks again everyone for your feedback. I like everything I'm learning about the IP Office system and the community here is a great help.

If you do a monitor trace when attempting a call and post the result here we can confirm if they are rejecting it and perhaps why :)

I've never done that before but I'm definitely open to giving it a shot. Can you walk me through it?
Here's what I tried let me know if this is right.

ps. Do you have a suggestion for a better place to upload pictures? Photobucket seems a little unprofessional to me.

No need, I see Cause code 1 being sent back from the provider in that trace. That means "Unallocated (unassigned number)" so looks like they need to update their routing tables or something :)

AT&T needs to update their routing tables correct?
Not the location I'm attempting to call? I would assume not since calling from my cell phone to them works fine. Which is strange since my cell carry is also AT&T but I'm sure the IP Flex and normal consumer wireless setups are different.

BTW, I use dropbox to upload pictures, it installs a folder on your pc and you just put pics/docs in there, then copy the link from there and post it here. Easy :)

Awesome. Now I have an actual reason to get a Dropbox account. I've not had a use for it until now. Thanks.

Cool, that message is from the line provider, it is the reason they sent to the system for rejecting the call :)

Be prepared for a battle.
It's been my experience that Telco never admits to having a problem.
Then, the problem magically vanishes and they will ask you what you did!
It's actually comical at times.

Thanks SupportDude. I'll be ready. I'm still waiting for them to call me. I'm shocked that AT&T's support for business customers is so lousy this is ridiculous.

Sidenote- is it possible to PM people on tek-tips?
I was looking up another issue and found some posts from 2010 in a thread you old timers like amriddle01 might remember as the RTFM thread. I almost died laughing reading through those posts.

Post a link to that thread please....first time I have officially been called an old timer lol :)

Oh yes, that soon turned sour, I don't think "Mr Attitude" posted much after that, that thread quickly got de-railed into a food discussion too :)
