Hello,

My provider just gave me a new set of DID's Our previous block was 813-386-XXXX our new block 813-676-XXXX. I setup an extension that was going to use the new block and assigned the last four XXXX in incoming call route and set destination to the Avaya exten

Im getting "You reached a nonworking number Announcement 14 Switch 4912-2"

Do I need to setup something different to handle the diff prefix?

Thx
Eric

Wow thx for the help. Is this how you make yourself feel good? Since we got sick of the high and mighty Avaya guys not showing up and/or doing crap work I have had to learn what I know from the web and this board.

Since I am Head of NetOps and a programmer by trade I have helped countless others with Linux,Cisco,Java, and PHP problems now is when I get to see Karma is BS

But do you do it all for free?

That is not the sytem giving that announcment, it's the provider, the system has no such announcments in it. Enter the full number received or to the length they send, also make sure there is an any voice route to catch any unassigned numbers, there will be an error in SSA if you received a call but have not routed it correctly/at all :)

Thx Amriddle,

I checked our PRI settings and TWTelecom only sends 4 digits so I have everything configured properly on my end. I knew the announcement was from TW I just wasnt sure I had it configured properly.

I have opened a ticket with TWT.

DigitalID,

I get paid for what I do. I worked for Verizon for 10years in Hardware and switches before switching to Programming (another 10 years_. So are you telling me cause I do not work on Avaya fulltime I am stealing food from your mouth or I cant post here to solve a problem?? We have had 3 yes 3 avaya techs here in Florida just vanish they only work when they need money. Currently when needed I have All Business Comm in Boston login and do work on the system. Since we cant find a dependable Avaya tech here I stepped up to learn as much as I could to keep the system running.

Eric

If you have PRI and you just want small changes anyone with an ISDN modem can dial in and do remote programming for you, I have programmed systems in Australia and I am UK :)

Hey,
In the Manager Help files, under the Contents Tab, Configuration Settings -> Incoming Call Route Settings there is a pretty good example of this this function works.

Sounds like you cracked it anyway and its a network issue as has been mentioned.

No, ehask71, that is not what I am saying. I was asking if you always helped for free. Obviously your company could not make money from your services if you did it all for free. I was responding to your statement, "Since I am Head of NetOps and a programmer by trade I have helped countless others with Linux,Cisco,Java, and PHP". I was not saying that you could not ask for help but your statement seemed to suggest that since you helped for free, we should too. I agree and disagree. There is a limit.

3 Avaya engineers who do not know incoming call routes makes me think they are CM engineers or totally not knowing it at all!
This is really basic stuff.
Make one ICR (for a test) with no DDI in it.
When that works then look in Monitor to see what is send by the provider.
Then reprogram the incoming call route.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

DigitalID,

I didnt finish my sentence properly I was pointing out how I help sometimes more than I ask for help on a forum and yes I always help for free on Forums thats what they are here for. If this was for Avaya Engineers only than there should be verification to join and/or ask a question.

tlpeter,

Its not that they didnt know what they were doing they show up once or twice then when you need them again they dont show or never return their calls. I call it the Florida Mentality they only work when they need money. I see it alot in Boat Mechanics & lawn guys LOL

You are correct as no one is charging for their answers on this forum. However, if every customer who has not been trained comes here to find out how to do things and they get every question answered, there are some techs who will be in the unemployment line do to the economy. My point is that we must be careful and use wisdom and think about the customers vendor before answering questions. I have seen questions in the Nortel forum that they should have called their vendor for. They didn't because someone answered them. I feel for the companies but I also feel for the vendors because I am one.
