Hello

We purchased and installed an IPO500 some years ago (we'd planned on becoming a reseller) and it's stayed on the same version number. We'd like to upgrade to the latest version (and eventually integrate with Lync). We're having a third party perform the upgrade but I'd like to get an idea of and potential problems or caveats.

Is there simple list of what has been made incompatible since 4.1? Trying to go through each upgrade document is like wading through treacle. Are there any other issues that people have experienced that we should be aware of?

Thanks

Your 3rd Party (BP) should be able to tell you about any snags?

You main concern could be VCM / IP Endpoints

Apart from that - plain(ish) sailing.

When yuo want to become a reseller then order a demo kit.
This will give you all needed licenses and with every release you can do free upgrades and get new licenses for free too.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

@hairlessupportmonkey

They've essentially said "It'll be fine" but I'm not sure they've taken everything into account. For instance, I've finally found the document I thought I'd seen before that CCC is no longer supported. Our developer is using the SDXArchive database to run reports for our Ops. Manager. Is CCR the direct replacement for CCC? Could CCR be installed before we upgrade?

@tlpeter
We abandoned the plan to become a reseller and when our previous support provider stopped being a reseller we've just supported it ourselves because it just ticked over nicely.

CCC and CCR are two totaly different tools.
Both are ugly tools.
You cannot reuse your database from CCC to CCR so you need to start al over again.
I then suggest using Xima Chronicall.
It is much faster, more stable and installed in ten minutes (CCR takes you half a day)

As Peter said - CCC isn't supported.

What is the reason for upgrading? Obviously your BP haven't looked very hard into it.

Thanks for the info Peter, I'll look into that

It's mainly to bring it up to date, but also when we've looked at the Lync integration, we're missing options that are in the guides. I had a feeling that they hadn't really looked into it.

As I'm guessing you guys know your stuff, is there anything off the top of your head we should watch out for? We use VMPro heavily. I take it that VMPro has just been upgraded to a new version?

From memory Delta Server no longer works and there should be earlier posts on replacements.
