IPO406v2 4.2 Installing 4602 phones 1

Brand new install, just IPO406v2 4.2 no expansion modules.

Few 5410 phones (working fine)

Trying to install the 4602 phone.
After 46xxupgrade.scr and 46xxsettings.txt download the following ERROR on 4602 appears: TFTP error File not found

When I add the user and extension manually, the phone still does not work.

I tries using the three tftp methods: manager, the IPO itself and 3rd party tftp. Same result.

Tried 4 different 4602 phones.

Help!!!!

Oke new try

Connect the phone with a cross cable to your pc (without switch just straight)
Set up the phone staticly
Give it an ip in the range of your pc
Set the callsv,router,tftp etc etc etc with the ip of your pc
Start manager (tftp) and let it go
This must work otherwise your phone is the problem

Please give us the following details:
Full modelnumber on the back of the handset (there are several versions of the 4602, 4602D, 4602SW, 4602SW+)

When it boots the firsttime what currentfile is loading please the complete name (might take a few reboots to write it down).

Open up the userinterface of your tftpserver and look what the filename is that the phone is requesting from the tftpserver used.

tlpeter: Connected to a laptop directly with a crossover. Same result, it grabs the 46xxupgrade.scr then looks for the blank file.

When loading the file it first asks for (and gets) is: 46xxupgrade.scr
Then we get the problem of the blank file.

Please give me the details of the file it's starting when powering up. what binfile is it starting.
I'm trying to establish wether it's the bootfile or the application file. So please look at the display during first startup.
It normaly tells you what file it currently on. I'm tracing the upgradescripts wether there is an error in there on 4.2.4. just for the 4602D01 version.

soho with 4.1.15
I am having I think the same issue on the same phone 4602d01a.
TFTP loads 46xxupgrade.scr then 46xxsettings.txt.
Then I get a 0kb received, then a blank screen.
Do not see a bin file name when first started.
In the 46xxupgrade.scr I see an if statement for $bootname, does anybody know what this is?


I attributed the malfunction to purchasing phone on ebay, although it was new in the box, and cheap. All other 4610s and 5610s work fine.

It does not load a bin, it loads the 46xxupgrade.scr file. Here is the file:

I thought you replaced the files ?
And another thing, you bought them from ebay !!!

Granted I bought them from ebay, however they were new and in sealed Avaya boxes.

Could you paste in the new file please.

Go to your admin cd and then the program files folder
In there you will find it

All the *.bin *.txt *.scr files you need are on the Admin4_2_4 CD.

If you install the manager program those (correct) files are copied to the manager directory!

Did a "manual" upgrade of the phones.
I placed the GET command at the begining of the scr file, and loaded in sequence these files (rebooting the phones after each):
4601dbte1_82.bin
cvt02_2_3.bin
b02d01b2_3.bin
AA02d01b2_3.bin

The result is thesame. Still looking for "blank" file.

Yes I know, silly me. In my defense, they were labeled as new.
In anycase, any ideas on how to fix this.

They are probably a dodgy batch and the reason you are having this fault is beacause of that, also different regions have slightly different setups, they could be from any region. That's probably why none of the fixes are working, I can't think of anything left to try.
