IPO403 and IP400 DT30 Interconnect cable 1

What can the maximum distance between a IPO403 base unit and a IP400 DT30 expansion unit be ?

i have looked through the ipo403 manual it tells me that i need a "Expansion interconnect cable" but it does not say what the maximum distance can be between the two units.

only use the blue cable supplied with the exp module any other is not supported and will cause havoc on the system

I had a customer with a 0.5m cat5e which had no problems for over a year (they changed when relocating themselves).

Wouldn't recommed anything other than that supplied via avaya though for fear of god.

The cable suppleid is a 1M screened cable
a shorter screened cable will not cause any issues
an unscreened cable is likly to cause problems even at 1M & a longer cable will lead to problems

now is there a way of having a DT30 60 feet away from the IPO403?

could i use 2*10/100BaseT-100BaseFX bridging media converters? (IPO401, 1/2m cat5, media convertor, fibre, media convertor, 1/2m cat5, DT30)

i have a good idea the answer will be no but i thought i would ask just incase some one has tried.

No, you are asking for trouble stay clear, only use the cable that is provided with the base unit.

Also make sure the cable is lose do not cable tie to the rack or loop the cable tidy to make the installation tidy, leave it untied.

Just run a link cable or tie with RJ45 patch strips at either end.

Patch away. Costs a little more but the best (read only) way to do it.
