Hello All,

We're in the process of removing our exchange server 2003 and going to a hosted solution with MS Online Services. Not alot has really changed in terms of mail delivery except for a few DNS changes. Avaya is now the final peice of the puzzle and I'm a little confused with what is happening.

Our system is an IP406 v2 DS 5.0(8) with VM Pro currently running on a W2K3 Server.

I log on to the system, go to the system settings and then to SMTP. I then changed the IP Address, port number, email from address as well as user name and password.

I saved the new config and then tried to merge but needed to reboot which I did. I log back into the system and all the settings are there. I then try a test call and leave a voicemail and 2 minutes later I have the email with the VM attachment. Problem is, it shows the From and Return path to be the old email address that we used.

I guess I'm missing something pretty basic here. Is there somewhere else that IPO stores these credentials? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If you have VM Pro the settings for Voicemail to email are in the VM PRo option in control panel. The SMPT settings on the phone system are for alarms or embedded VM to email.

Check the registry.
I think it is in there.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

email address and user name are the same...nothing else on the ipo
check the server or vmpro

Thanks guys. The option was in the control panel as Pepp suggested however, I can't get the smtp to authenticate but that is a different story unless someone else has dealt with MS Online Services and has managed to get it working?

Does anyone know if IPO supports Transport Layer Security (TLS) and not just SSL? MS requires TLS.

The voicemail supports neither.
You'll need to setup an e-mail relay for this to work.
IIS can do this.

That answers the question. Thanks very much to all for the advice. Will setup an additional external smtp using postfix.
