IPOffice500 v7.2 w/2 combo cards installed & on-line

Performed a RESETSECURITYALL via DTE port successfully (passwords were unavail.)

From laptop, connected to LAN. IP Manager (v10.x I believe) software found switch no problem. (was not prompted for any passwd)

In IP Manager (think its in Basic mode):

Problem: plugged a new 1408 phone into ext. 20 and line appearances are incorrect for this system. However, other 1408 phones on system are correct. So, thought I'd just copy say ext. 18 to this ext 20!

So........

In User Settings - added an ext name of "Backroom 4" next to ext 20 - applied - no problem.

In User Button Programming: Copied existing ext 18 (1408 type) to ext 20 Clicked on "Apply" in bottom right

During "save configuration" - prompted for "security" passwd, which should now be "securitypwd" - but got "access denied"
So, tried "Manager" then "Manager" for passwd - this appeared to work - progress bar went across bottom of window
System rebooted. (Note: Tried "Administrator" then "Administrator" for passwd - got access denied)

However, Line appearances did *not* copy over from the ext 18 copy ! (ALS Programming)

When I return to User Button Programming - click on "ALS Programming", it shows the default line appearances (not the correct ones for us) - but will not let me edit them! Tried deleting with backspace, & trying to enter correct line appearances to no avail! Will not let me type in this box. No way/no-how!

And now, somehow exts. 14 & 15 that were always fine as far as Line appearances - are back to the defaults! Huh!?

This is only problem - the ALS programming for affected exts.

Also, during a "save configuration" - what is "Merge" in the re-boot window that comes up?

Thanx so much in advance,
Tim

Try using Administrator for username and password as the password. You don't type the ALS order. First press "Clear ALS" then left click the desired line appearance order on the picture of the phone. It fills in the box when you click the lines.

I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.

I dont know what R7.2 is, but on R7 in general I've had major issues with Automatic Line Selection getting erased after I tried to configure another user. I program them from the phone or in Web Manager and then I dont run into that.

I just finished downloading and installing the 8.0(46) quarterly update, and noticed this at the end of the release notes:

IPOFFICE-30533 ALS settings not saving when making changes with 8.0.44 manager
IPOFFICE-24969 User Setup/Advanced settings not retained between config saves when using Partner mode

Ok, 4yayaman. how do I prog from phone, n how do I access the "web mgr"?
And if from the "phone", can I use the 1408 on the ext in question, or must I use x10?
Thx, Tim

Tim, when i sai you have no clue you got upset but i think you do not have a clue.
I think you run basic mode (i have no clue how that works because it is terrible and i refuse to use it)
You better go on a course because you and the customer both will dislike doing this.
I am not trying to bash you so don't feel offended.
Try the IP Office mode and run a proper system instead of running it in basic mode.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
