I've got a "It's hypothetical right now, but might not be in three months time" kinda question...

We've got an IPO500 on v5.0, and our parent company is looking to get a VoIP system separate to our IPO. All the parent sites are networked via a VPN to ours.

Could we link the two together via IP trunking (I think I'm using the right terminology) in such a way that we could call them (or vice versa) without using our ISDNs on the IPO?

I've no idea what system they will be getting, other than it's either an actual hardware system, or one that will be hosted in the cloud (for want of a better expression!)

Cheers!

As long as the other system can use h323 or SIP trunks you should be fine, most can be linked in some way, it may take some tweaking though, you would also need licences for either solution :)

to follow on from what andy has said, if you're gonna keep the ipo then you should push them to put the same in to the other sites. you'll get much more than inter site dialing.

Thanks guys, I suspected I was sort of on the right lines!!

Whatever they get, we're keeping our IPO, we like it too much :)

glad to hear it, spread the word.

it's nice to see someone that's really happy with their system, keep hold of your bp and get them to have a look at the project as a whole.

Yeah, forgot to mention that you need to have a VCM card fitted, if you have IP phones you already have one, if not you probably don't :)

Forgot to mention we've already got a VCM with 4 channel licences, I guessed we'd probably have to get more (one per concurrent call I assume?)
