The SCN in Fallback mode operates well. But is there an ability to pull back the phones from the secondary IPO back to primary IPO after some time in an automatic recovery?

My situation is impacted by the subpar performance of the MPLS network. Some sites failover to the secondary IPO as the connection drops, I have to manually re-register the phones via the SystemStatus. While the carrier is working on the MPLS resolution, I need to make sure the customer has minimal impact. + this typically occurs late at night.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Use system status or monitor to reboot the IP phones.
That is the only way to get them back on there primary system.
For monitor go to H.323 phone status and select the phones and press the reset button.

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

you would think they would add a recovery rule such as avaya cm platforms

ACSS-SME,ACSS Avaya Aura Session Manager and System Manager,ACSS Avaya Scopia Solution,ACSS Avaya one-X UC Soft Clients,ACSS Avaya Session Border Controller, ACSS Avaya Aura Messaging,
ACSS Avaya Aura Call Center Elite, ACSS Avaya Aura CM and CM Messaging,ACIS Avaya Aura CM and CM Messaging, ACIS SME, ACIS Avaya CM 5.2.1

tlpeter, yes thats the way we have been doing this. but it is still a manual process.

Is there a way to setup some sort of email notification when such an event occurs??

smokinjoe2938, Avaya did this on purpose as the CM has full redundancy and the IPO only resiliency.

bvntech, you can actually do this with the alarms.
When a phone is registered on the second system then you will receive an email but all other stuff too with phones :)

Fully automating this type of operation is not always the good idea it seems,

when it works properly the customer can be completely unaware of an ongoing issue that is getting progressive works until it fails completely.

personally I prefer to manage my fall-back & recovery scenarios manually to ensue the underlying problem is fully resolved.

A Maintenance contract is essential, not a Luxury.
Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

tlpeter, thanks for the suggestion. any specific alarm on that list?

Phone change.
But that means unplugging one is also an alarm.

IPGURU, great point! never thought about it from that prospective! I like the way you think outside of the box, have a great day

But break down of an IPO should always be notified by email or any other way of alarms.
So you should always know when it happens or has happened.
