Hi Guys,

I have a client who has decided to replace their CISCO Firewall/Router with Draytek Firewall/Router, as the customer has a 9608 handset which was connected using the on-board VPN Client Software, I am now having issues establishing VPN connection to the Draytek.

Has anyone had any experience connecting 9608 VPN Client Handsets to Draytek Routers?? I am used to dealing with CISCO, Netgear, MikroTik and Sonicwall where i have never really had any issues.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated,

Cheers Chaps & Chapettes

Probably because the Draytek VPN is not a supported solution.
i would suggest that in future your customer consults you prior to making changes that might affect the telephony services. meantime restoring the original Cisco is probably in order.
(Why on earth would anyone want to replace a Cisco with a Draytek?)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

We had issues with remote I9608's extensions not connecting with Drayteks, swapped with an Asus router and worked straight away

Draytek does not work with the 9608 VPN client, stick to the Cisco, a lot better.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your replies and info... this is what I feared, however yes.. the customer should have liaised with us prior to replacing the CISCO..

Thanks Again : )
