I have read some really brilliant posts about IPO updates from folks I consider far smarter thank I am, but it left me with one question. This is my first IPO system, having installed many Partner systems which are basically "install and forget" (except for user changes).
We are currently running an IPO R7 at our largest location and everything is really going well (knock on wood or wood-like product). I read in the 8.1 announcement that there is now no Avaya support for 7.0. I have never used support (thanks to Tek-Tips) and had this system installed and running for almost two years and installed 7 right after it was released.
I have read the 8.0 and 8.1 summary of new features and none seem really desirable based on our configuration. I don't need any of the new hardware.
Do any of you see a reason for me to upgrade a perfectly stable 7.0 system to 8.1 just to be back in the support window?
Opinions welcome, you folks have taught me a lot.
