IPO embedded voicemail to email

I have a 500 V2 R6 with embedded voicemail and looking to set up voice mail to email using a gmail account. I have the gmail smtp server as 74.125.77.109 with 587 as the port and an IP route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1 but its not working. 192.168.1.1 LAN gateway. Any help is appreciated thanks
 
embedded with gmail would be nice to have working really because so far I could not make it work without an SMTP relays

I always use GMX, work very good.


Register:
Enter the following in the Manager > System > SMTP;

IP: 213.165.64.45
port: 587
email from address: you@gmx.com/us
server requires auth: ticked
user name; you@gmx.com/us
password; your password
use challenge response auth: unticked

Then on the User > Voicemail > Voicemail email
enter the "to" mail address.

Also if you goto System > Systems events > Alarms
Mail will be sent if you have any alarms on the software/lines....ect.

guys I did not forget to share how i got it to work. The problem is i was able to send two messages accross and it stoped working that is why i have not said anything again.
Bas1234 did you have to create an IP Route in your config because i have tried the gmx but also no luck. In monitor it shows email messages queuing.
 
You need to have a default route.

0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0/x.x.x.x (x.x.x.x = Gateway)

Thank everyone for your input. For some reason its working again.
and this is what i had before that sent two emails then went to sleep and now is working

My ISP is Cablevission
SMTP Address is 167.206.5.250
Port is 25
Email address is my valid email address@optonline.net
Server require authentication is NOT checked.

IP ROUTE is Default
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.1.1(My default gateway)

It is working great and i am not touching it.
 
FORGOT TO MENTION
In the user account it does not matter what email addres is in it whether yahoo, company email, gmail or hotmail it will sent the email.
 
167.206.5.250 is not a gmail smtp server, so it works but for how long.

167.206.5.250 this is the SMTP server for cablevision which is the customers internet service provider so as long as the customer remains with cablevission the SMTP server is accessible. Since it started working again its been great.

I don't even think you will have to have an optonline email account for it to work, since i did not have to use server authentication and as i said i am not toching it in any way after it started working again
 
So it works for you, and not for the rest of us. Changing the provider and you stuck again.

just for testing purpose
I changed the email address from me@optonline.com to a valid hotmail address keeping calevission's SMTP server and port 25 and it worked great so I can say you do not have to have cablevission as your ISP to use the server.

I again changed the SMTP server and used that of GMX 213.165.64.45 with port 587 with a valid gmx account and it did not work. I also got an error in manager about the port number 587. I think I will always use the cable vision SMTP server since it worked.
