Dear All.
One of our DS module has failed recently, when we check the DS module 30 V2- only red light is on , the green light is not coming on.

when we connect the DTE port & rebooted the Module it just shows "Programming FPGA"
FPGA version 0x01
aftre that TFTP POLL FAILED.

what is this eror can we do something in the filed

Regards
DS

while connected through the DTE port, power down then backup and hit escape on the keyboard just as you would do with a main unit, do your AT commands to erase the unit.

Then, reboot the system with manager up and the the broadcast 255.--- set in manager under preferences and see if that clears the problem

If you have 20+ phones connected to that digital station you should unplug as many as you can, had cases with some DS30 modules not starting up properly when having many phones connected to then.
Solved this though by recieving new power adapter from Avaya.

If you have a solid red light then it isn't a power fault. The 'TFTP poll failed' indicates it has no firmware and is trying to download some. Same procedure as a control unit with no firmware (like dizzyphil said), if the download doesn't start change cable/expansion port.

One note about defaulting modules - only use AT-X. If you use X2, X3 or X4, you will probably break it.

That is very true...

Why the scepticism on the X2, X3 ect.... I was told if she's not working get rid of everything AT-X being the last command.

I have just posted a note similar to this one as I am looking through. I had my module maxed out with 5410's and my lights on the station 30 looked like it was having a hard time powering up too. Light was coming up a faint red then solid red, then green and then blank, over and over. Mind you this was after I stuck a tone generator in one of the ports. So what janni78 was saying about to many phones in the ports made sense. When I pulled off all the cables to get a replacement, I tested the unit itself and it powered up fine. Then I slowly started plugging in some sets. So far so good. What is the fix for something like this?????

This one is for you. I pulled the power on both station 30's with all the phones still plugged in. 1 has 30 users and the other approx. 18-20. Same deal not coming up like it doesn't haave enough power. With units still plugged in I started pulling off cables one at a time when I got down to under 10 users or so my station 30 came up and then I was able to plug the rest of the sets in with no trouble.

Question to you is, did you get the same type of power adapter or was it something stronger/poerful. I have your standard out of box power supply that they all ship.

Power Solve AC Adapter
Model: PS G60-24-04
Input: 100-240V-50/60 Hz 1.7A
Output: 24.0V---2.5A

I have all 5410 sets with 2 5420.
Running XP PRO for the PC hosting VM & Manager.

Could you let me know if the power supply was the same unit or something stronger for this purpose.

Thanks in advance.

AT-X2, AT-X3, AT-X4 erase areas of the onboard memory that are used for storing configs. Only the the main units (403, 406 and 412) actually contain configuration information, so by doing a AT-X2,3 or 4 on a module unit you will erase areas of the on board memory that cannot be replaced by "normal" means.

AT-X on all units erase the firmware which is replaced by manager.

If anyone knows of a way of uploading the areas of memory erased by AT-X2,3, or 4, i'd be really pleased to know how as I have a unit that needs it!

The power supply I got for replacement is almost identical to the old one. It has the same specs (if I'm not mistaken), only difference you can see is that it has a yellow mark on to the plug that goes into the IP Office.
You will get these AC Adapters included sometimes when you order base units now days.

To solve your problem contact your distributor or Avaya and have them send you new power supplys for replacement.

The red/green/off cycle is a power fault, current solution is to replace standard 60W PSUs with 80W variants (you'll know if you get one as they are bigger than the standard model). Avaya are aware of this, this is the second serious power fault with the DS30 v2s.

Guess you US guys get bigger PSUs, the ones I got was identical except the yellow mark, worked fine though.

Thanks guys I will get in touch with Avaya and let them know I need two new pwr sp 80 and up.
