I have experience installing IP Office. Most are replacing Nortel, Partners, Merlins etc. where the configuration is fairly simple.
I have a small town Police Station with 3 lines 5 phones. The customer wants the ability to forward calls to his cell phone.
I've actually talked to Xima about Chronicall and did some reading / searching on Contact Recorder and Contact Store.
It all sounds like overkill, but this is what the customer wants.
Also, the reseller I use has a nice license bundle that covers a lot of options. I am simply torn on a Call Recording option. I guess I am simply asking what would be the best route to go on such a small system.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Chronicall is an amazing product but will require that you go to voicemail pro to record calls with voicemail channels as you are running analog lines. That's not a cheap upgrade, but does add a lot of flexibility and functionality.

Algo Solutions had a line-based device that you run the analog lines into the Algo box then out to the IPO which will allow you to record calls that way. It connects via USB to a PC that you have to use to review the recordings locally (or via RDP). This should work for you if they still have it, but it will record those calls forwarded to a cell twice (once for each line).

Also (and I expect you know this) there are volume issues when forwarding or transferring calls to an outside number with analog trunks unless you use telco call forwarding on the line itself.

Thanks.
VM Pro is part of lic bundle I'm considering. I have no problem with configuring a Linux server to run it. I don't know if Chronicall is worth the additional cost for just 5 users.
Can Contact Recorder be that bad (have seen a lot of Xima referrals).
The Algo solution sounds intruiging, but I saw nothing on their site. Also, the customer wants to be able to have a log all calls.
I feel like I know where this is going (Chronicall or CR), just throwing it out there to see if anyone has an alternative

Contact Recorder costs more than Xima, at least as long as whoever sells you Xima isn't having your eyes out it does :)

do not do any forwards with only 3 lines, every call = 2 trunks being used, one for inbound and the other on the outbound, so for every forwarded call you will use 2 trunks in a forwarded state

Joe2938, that was my first concern (tying up 2/3 of the trunks). The customer is planning on using remote call fwd for instances when the office is empty. Personally, I think vm to email is going to be more than enough to cover out of office concerns.

A police station with only 3 lines, is this the sheriff Andy Taylor's office, sorry couldn't resist lol

Lol....pretty close to Mayberry.

There is a good chance I can sell to the Town Hall (Mayor), Courthouse and Fire Dept.
All similar sized systems all on separate budgets and won't combine. If your familiar with small southern towns, this is par for the course.

Yes I am good luck, but no forwards with only 3 lines

It could be worth adding a GSM gateway dedicated to calls to known mobiles (whoever is on call).

VM pro with escalating alerts would also be a good idea for when the mobile is out of service, switched off not answering etc.

although in a town this size guess most of the locals would know he correct bar to call anyway ;-)

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

Hadn't considered a GSM Gateway, any suggestions on particular one.

Update. The customer had his budget approved and his determined to get call recording. Furthermore he prefers to go with Avaya Contact Recorder over Xima.
Got a good deal on the following bundle (which works out well because I see joining the next door Fire Dept onto this IPO in the near future)

Doesn't change the fact that I am a replacing an old Executone with 3 analog lines and 5 phones. Any suggestions on how to give him the most bang for his buck? Mobility is an interest but I am not sure about the cost of switching providers and bringing in SIP (or is it easier to use an FXO/FXS Gateway). I am looking forward to finally installing an IPO that isn't programmed exactly like a Partner ACS. I am wanting to give him something useful and not over-do it. Looking forward to any thoughts out there.

Sounds like someone tries to sell you a demo bundle...
