Can IPO do E911 for a motel? Meaning, can it identify the room that placed the call? The docs are a little murky on this.

Yes, it can send an email that an extn has made an emergency call :)

Ah sorry, you meant pass room ID down to the 911 centre.
Over to the US folks then, I am UK based so don't really play with E911 :)

The caller ID needs to be known to the 911 centre otherwise they don't get any address information.

You could get a DID for each room and register that with the 911 centre as address + room to make that work but that will cost for DID's and registration.

You could also get a third party E911 system that can take over but again cost is there and I am not sure how much or what third party application that would be.

How big is that Motel that you need it?
You get a system alarm when 911 is called (or any dial emergency SC) and you could email that out to reception and by the time the first responders arrive you know which room has called and they can add it to the bill if it was a nuisance call

aside from DID's and registration, I don't think you can pass rooms to the E911 office. This will be very expensive.

There are a variety of e911 Devconnect pieces that will permit informing of users via calls, email, sms, screen pops to PC's etc., but none of this makes it to the E911 center, it all goes to system users (typically).
