Hello Pros,

I see one other post with this same issue, but no resolution. I have a customer who calls in from outside the office to check messages. So I built an option in their auto attendant to do that. They call in, press * (option I used), followed by their extension number, then #. They are then prompted to enter their password. The first time you enter the password it says 'Login failed, please try again'. When you try the second time (within the same call) it works. This happens for all users, and it fails 100% of the time on the first try and works 100% of the time on the second try. If I dial *17 from a phone, it works on the first try, no problem.

I have changed the user's password, downgraded VM Pro but the issue is still happening. Has anyone ever seen this and know of a solution? Thank you.

Once is never enough.

It all depends on the way users are send to their mailbox, you have no details on that so there will not come a answer.

Users call an external number which hits an ICR. The ICR destination is a short code which goes to a voicemail pro module. In the module I pointed the * option to an IP Office short code = Voicemail Collect/"?".

So the user calls in, dials *, then their extension number followed by # to login to their mailbox remotely.

Point the * option to a "Get Mail" action, select "Mailbox" there and enter a ? as the mailbox number, the system will ask for extension number and pascode just once.

Thank you, works as it should now! Appreciate the help. Strange, I've set this up a few times and used my first method without a problem. But definitely will use this one from now on.

if you have a spare DDI simply pointing an ICR at Voicemail will also do this

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
