IPO 8.1 using VMP 9.0 1

If I'm running IP office 8.1 would a VMP 9.0 using the UCM drive work?

I seem to remember someone saying that IP office will work with one level up or one level down in software but nothing higher than one level.

Yes it will work.

10.0 and higher doesn't work with anything lower but 9.1 works down to at least 6.0 (I have one so it is tested and not guessed)

Thanks! Other than backing up backing up backing up which I do all the time are there any precautions or suggestions that I should take prior to the upgrade? Will I lose any of my licenses?
