IPO 500V2 config for SIP trunks for IB/OB faxing

I am in need of how to setup our new IPO to be able to send and recieve faxes. The numbers have ported over but faxes are not working. It worked perfect before with a analog line.

We have ext 100 setup as a Fax machine which is whired direct to fax machine analog port.
SIP trunk is setup to use t38 as far as I know.

Any suggestions or help....

Look in Manager and see if it is, you will have trouble with faxing if it isn't set up so it's the first thing you need to check. And even when it is configured, it isn't a gurantee they will work 100%. If you want rock solid guaranteed faxing you need ISDN, second best is analogue and the last option is SIP.

Is the ipoffice on 8.0?
when the answer is yes then try G.711
T.38 seems to be broken in 8.0

Sip and analog are two different animals! I never recommend faxing via sip unless it's a sip pri!

Hi

I'm trying to fax over sip since 2 weeks on our IP 500V2 8.0 it didn't work with T38 or G711.

the best is to use analog line for fax.

You can select T38/G711 in sipline- voip tab - fax transport

Any idea if T38 is better with 8.1 ?
