Hi,

I have just installed two IPO 500, analog trunks, 100% IP Phones. I started with a terrible over the phones, then upgraded the firmware with the one provided with the 4.0.7 manager and the quality got better but it is not excellent. if the voice volume goes higher than normal then audio does not work.

I have the same problem on both sites. any idea?

Sounds like the QOS on the network isn't very good. Do you have enough bandwidth up and downstream

How did the required network assesments come back which you did (in compliance with Avaya support requirements) prior to the deployment?

Ok, so if you did not do this, it is probably a network issue. From past experience you would most likley be best served by posting the CFG'c online so we can download them, and take a look. Then we can ask some questions.

Narrowing the problem. the quality between stations is excellent. the network is not the problem. the problem is between the IP Phones and the analog trunks. the IP phones are 56xx IP. We tried changing analog trunks configuration options but it does not work. ¿any idea?

What is the quality of the analogue lines like by using a but set accross it.

ACA - IP Office Implement
ACA - IP Telephony
ACS - IP Office Implement (Aug 30th)

If we use an analog phone on the analog trunks they work fine. i think it has something to do with IPO firmware. anyone had a similar problem? similar configuration?

lcgmx,
The quality of station to station calls does not determine that the network is not the issue. Do not assume that this is the case. Doing so is just making an assumption based on wishful thinking.

Making the assumption that the network is not the issue, could you send the CFG's so we can review them? Or possibly post them for download on the net somewhere? That is much easier than having you list all the settings for all the analog trunks, on all tabs, and ICR's, SC's, System settings all tabs, etc. etc. Looking directly at the CFG's can make a otherwise 30 entry thread be replaced with a reply and an answer in an hour.

Also, do the analog trunks come off of a channel bank? Have you tried playing with the gains, ext, and line?

Could it be a VCM issue? Unlikely if both systems have the exact same issue, but perhaps a bad batch of cards?

that is myguess. something wrong with the vcm or the firmware. so far I dont know of another problem like this. my locale is Mexico. I had not have a similar problem with the 406, any firmware version.

any help would be apreciated.

We are having almost the same problem with an install we did with an IP 500 and 4.0. It is not a network issue as we have have hammered that network and everything is good. I was just about to replace the VCM module as you were, I am looking forward to see how this worked out for you.

Is this set up in the Extension IP? Avaya recommends this setting and not Automatic.

IP Extension Compression Mode = G.729(a)8K CS-ACELP

Well... it has to do with the locale. we tried changing to US. sound quality got better but the trunks do not end the calls and got stucked. we will try US Locale and play with analog trunk configuration.

Adit600 is a channel bank with a history of issues with the IPO. If it is an Adit 600 drop me a line same name as on here AT My Special Network DO Try to COMe drop me a line. I should be able to help you out, but it will probably require a vendor meet with then Telco. If we can get them to change some specific settings on the Adit600 it should be able to be fixed.

Did you guys ever figure out what your issues were? I have dealt with a few of these situations, and have made them work, I am curious what the solution was.
