Hi, just getting back to IPO after a couple of years away.

Are new VM Pro licenses still available for the 406/412 platform ?
Am getting some contradictory answers to this question from BP/distributor

Thanks

6.0 doesn't have the same licensing, but instead they have...

Essential Edition = Embedded messaging. Runs off the SD card in IP500 V2 no more CF card

Preferred Edition = VM Pro

Advanced Edition = Contact Store, Customer Call Reporting, IVR, 8 port TTS

Advanced Edition is an add-on to an existing preferred edition.

User app licensing is different too with:

Basic user, Office Worker, Teleworker, mobile user, power user.

Misread your question it's late and I'm overdue for some sleep.

IPO 6 & new vm licenses will work on 406v2, 412, 500 and 500v2. So you can get licensing for your 406v2 (original 406 will not work) and 412.

Thanks Chris, but there is more....

Customer in question runs 3rd party Call Centre software on a 412 running v3.2. Their Software developer won't support an upgrade to any other release of IPO due to differences in TAPI implementation. That's an argument i'm not qualified to enter. It's his product not mine and seeing he lives 12000 miles away, i can't drop in for a friendly chat..
So...we have to stay with 3.2, but the customer needs to have Voicemail Pro. The question is just, Can we or can we not buy VMP licenses for this box running 3.2 ?

We have waited for over 2 weeks for an answer from our BP/distributor and so far they are just evading the issue.

They are very new to the IPO product range and don't seem to have any knowledge of anything prior to IP 500 v2 !!

Frustrating for all concerned !

I think it does not matter but to be sure i will install 4.0 (can't go any lower on a ip500)
5.0 introduced the preffered license.
So it should be clear in 4.0
I will be back in a sec :)

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

It works as expected.
All licenses that are for 6.0 like power user etc etc are changed in to ??? but still valid.
The preferred edition license change to VMPro license.

So i would take the chance or tell the BP to test it them selves.

Thanks tipeter,
Once again, practical advice like this is why these forums are so successful ! and all within 5 hours or so of posting the question...not 2 weeks and counting.

Kind regards

Jon

They are probably Nortel BP's ?
This is all new for them so it can be hard.
And to be honest, it is confusing with the new licensing method.

There is a difference between R5 and R6 licenses.
But the vmpro license is not one of them.
