We were working with a client on installing an IPO 406V2. I've done quite a few installations of various 403's and 406V1's without any issues, but this one became a huge headache for some reason. Basically we had CCC, Voicemail Pro, a DS30 and an analog 16 on the unit. The short story is the unit was dropping calls, rebooting randomly, and even worse, during some of the reboots, would default back to the orginal config.

Has any else had any issues with the 406V2? Avaya said the issues we were having were known issues with 406v2 hardware and we ended up putting a 406 v1 in temporarily.

Just curious if anyone else was having issues.

I'm having the same issues. First 406V2 we installed. Random system reboots are KILLING US!! Did Avaya give any insight as to what the issues were?

We had these issues at a sight and it was a user managing the system with the wrong version manger make sure you us the correct manager.

We have three 406V2s and all is ggod version 2.1(27) is a must have

[cheers]

Running 4 v2's with 2.1(27) and no problems. I think it's the old "don't use manager 2.0 with 2.1 firmware".

Old school Alchemy engineer - trying to keep up with the times :)

Actually the random reboots we were having (and yes we were using the correct ver of manager) drove us up a wall. Avaya tier 3/4 said it was a "known bug" with the hardware and basically shipped us a 406V1 to put in it's place... until a resolution is figured out.

They didn't give any idea as to what the "known bug" was, and we made the slight changes to the config file that they suggested with no avail.

FYI: Heard back from Tier 3 support today. I had sent them a monitor log file and they found a problem with a watchdog timer. They have sent me a patch that is supposed to fix the reboot problem. The patch only works with release 2.1(31) so I've got to upgrade the system to apply the patch.

Very interesting. I've still not heard back from Avaya, wonder if they'll tell me the same issue resolution.

Sorry to bump in this forum. embarking on a 406V2 R3 install this week. Starting to get worried. Anyone try R3 on a 406V2?
