Hi guys, this is my first post here, so go easy ;)

I have just acquired an office which alread has a LG ipLDK-20 compact system fitted. I would like to be able to setup this phone system by myself as I only run a small business with a few staff so paying for a maintenance contract is not really an option. I have been searching and reading for days now and as far as I can see, I need software called LDK PC Admin... I have tried everywhere to download it, using various searches on Google but to no avail. If anyone would be so kind to tell me where I can get it from, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

Hi h3nda

Thank you for choosin the LG-Nortel PBX product.

You need the ipLDK PC admin program to administer your ipLDK-20, and that program can be found here:

Also a good deal of manuals can be found on this site.
Using InternetExplorer 8.0, you can get the browser to translate from other languages to English, so it will be more easi to understand.
Good luck.

Thanks for the prompt reply... I had never came across that website in my days of searching. Anyway, I have donwloaded the PC Admin but I heard that you have to use the correct version with the PBX ?

How do I find the version of my PBX ? I have taken off the cover but nothing really stands out.

Is it possible to upgrade the firmware. I know if I have v2 then I can not use the v3 firmware. I hope mine is the later version :)

The firmware level is seen at any keyset by pressing [Trans/Pgm]+72.
Post the result here.

It could like LG LDK 20 3.8 Bb, where 3.8 Bb is the fw.
The version of ipLDK system and PC admin should match.

@Doktor

I'll get that info today and let you know. thanks for the help so far.

The other thing to check is whether the unit has a MODU (modem card) or LANU (network interface) as you'll need either of these to talk to the system. The LANU is a standard lan port you can see on the side with all other outlets, the modem is a small "piggyback card" inside on the motherboard.

The unit does not have anything inside oter than the Main board, 4 port slt card and 1 port analogue line board.

Can i not use the serial port. What is the advantage with the LANU board ?

doktor, the firmware is 2.1 so do i need pc admin v2.1 ?

is it possible to update to 3.9 or do I need to replace main board ?

h3nda.

Yes, they must match.
But s/w 2.1 is very old.
Please post the full content of the display af entering :
[Trans/PGM]+72.
It should be possible to update from most software levels, but please check what you have before we can continue.

it reads:

LGE/UK66P-2.1Cc OCT/05
UNITED KINGDOM

Yes, I can see that it is s/w 2.1 from Octobre 2005.

If you had an ipLDK-100 with the correct flash memory card, it would be OK to upgrade to 3.9.
Can you check your hardware and pos a list here.

If you do not want to upgrade, the use the ipLDK PC admin that you can find on the sites mentioned here in this forum.

i want to upgrade but what do mean by list of hardware, how do i get this ?

if you mean by pressing PGM + 72, thats what i did and the info which it returned i posted, unless there is more info after that ?

Can I upgrade from v2 to v3 ? I thought I had to change the main board, or is that the LDK-24 ?

With ipLDK-20 you should not change anything.
But I will check.
Meanwhile you could post a list of the hardware in your "20".
With the "24" you should swap most of it when going from version 1.0 to 3.0/3.7.

how do i get this list of hardware ?

do i just open the box and note down the numbers of the boards ?

Yes, that's the way to do it.
Do not power it of or change any boards, just read and post..;-))

SLIB4UK
LCOB2
MBUBC

Thats all the hardware in the system.

SLIB4UK - gives 4 analogue local telephone lines
LCOB2 - gives 2 public analogue PSTN lines (CO lines)
MBUBC - Mother board. (gives some keysets and analog phones)

I would use the matching ipLDK-20 v2.2 s/w to manage this system, and only upgrade it if I should need IP trunk and IP telephones. If you do not need IP - do not upgrade.

I will in the mean time check if it is possible to upgrade from 2.2 to 3.9.
