Hello everybody,

I have trouble connecting to a ipLDK-100 telephone system with Pc Admin and a LDK-8DS phone.

The phone system is connected to our lan, and it replies to ping. I've tried connecting to it with Pc Admin, creating a new site, entering the correct ip info, and then connecting through lan, leaving the password empty.
The error message is 'connection is failed error code is 10060' and 'check your connection device'.

If i try to connect with the LDK-8DS telephone by pressing TRANS/PGM followed by * #, i get an 'ACCESS DENY' error.

The telephone system's firmware version is 2.2Ia (very old i think) and the Pc Admin versions i've tried connecting with are 3.5 through 3.9

Sorry for the long post and thank you for any ideas!
P.s.: sorry for the weird user name, i didn't know what handle meant :)

Hello,

One can not program the system via a LKD 8 btn phone - will need to use a LKD 24 btn phone. (Could use a LKD 16 btn phone but will run of of keys...)
By default the only programming phone on the system is the very first digital station on the phone system eg 100.

Since your system is using v2.2 software the system is an LDK - and therfor need to use v2.2 LDK PC Admin.

PC Admin v3.0 to v3.9 for the ipLDK systems only..

Hope this helps
Regards
Steve

Thank you very much for your reply!
I'll try programming it with another telephone.

Do you have any ideea where i can find PC Admin v2.2? v3.5 was the earliest i could find...

Once again thank you, and have a nice weekend!

Hello,

only has PC Admin v3.5 - v3.9, but thanks anyway :)
I'll try programming it with another phone and if that doesn't work, i'll contact the local LG office.

Do you have any other ideas?
I find it strange that no communication takes place between the PC and the phone system. Is it normal not to receive an error message even if the PC Admin version is different from the ldk-100's firmware?

No problem with "weird user names".
You can easily use the keyset programming.
I prefer it also.
But you need to program from the telephone installed on the first or second port - of the first DTIB board.
Otherwise you must open for the feature in PGM113.
Only one user can be logged on - the nex get access denied!

PGM113 btn 1 if set to enable gives access to keyset programming.

Thank you for your advice so far!

I managed to enter admin mode using a LKD-30DS telephone and i checked the networking configuration (IP, mask, gateway, etc) and the serial connection settings. Everything seems to be ok, but i still can't connect to it remotely using PC Admin (i managed to find v2.2) or any other software (telnet, remote diagnostic, billing software etc).

The problem is that i really need to make them connect.
Do you have any idea why is this happening?

Do you have a LANU connected to you processorboard (MPB)?
LANU (LAN board) is needed.
Check PGM 108 for the settings of the LANU.

Yes, i do have a LANU, i've checked the settings, and everything is ok. It replies to ping, but it doesn't respond to any other connection attempt.
PC Admin v2.2 (matched to the 2.2 version of the firmware) gives an 10060 error (connection timed out), telnet and hyper terminal can't connect to it (i've tried LAN and serial connections).
I find it very strange. It seems to be set up ok, but none of the programs can connect to it.
Besides PGM 108 and PGM 175 is there any other setting i should check for LAN/serial connectivity?
What is PGM 320 about? I've noticed that Network Enable setting there is OFF and i can't turn it on. Is that for IP Telephony, or for the LANU?

Did you set up a default gateway in PGM108?
That is important. Also restart the system.

PGM 320 and 340 are about VOIP telephony.

Hello,
I finally got it working. I had it set to factory defaults with the 8th switch on the MPB and everything worked fine after that.
I can't explain why that networking problem appeared in the first place but this is the only solution that worked for me.
So, if anybody runs into this problem in the future, resetting the database to default (switching on the 8th switch on the MPB and resetting the LDK-100) will hopefully solve it.
Be aware though that you will have to REPROGRAM it, or load an older database if you have one.

Thanks everybody for your answers, i owe you one!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO DO THIS.
Normal users do not have a back-up of their database!
If you have these kind of problems you should contact your local LG-Nortel representative.

///doktor

I apologise if i was out of line recommending that, i don't want to give bad advice to others.
However, there was no other workaround to be found.
In my case resetting the database was the only solution that worked.
Not even the LG-Nortel representative could connect to the system or figure out what was wrong with it.

If you consider my last post to be a problem, please delete it, because i don't want anybody without a backup to be in trouble!

No, we will not delete it.
But please be aware of what you write. Someone might copy that - i.e. try it out.
