Hello, I have just picked up a client with LG/Nortel iPECS MFIM100 phone systems. I am not that familiar with this system yet, but they have a pressing problem...

When transferred to voice mail, the outgoing message plays, then immediately hangs up, not allowing for the leaving of a message. This problem happens on all boxes, not just one or two.

Can anyone help me with the solution for this?
Thank you in advance for your help.

is it a 5.6 system, there you can define a announce only mailbox?

Thank you for replying, xs650. I am not sure which version it is. I just came across the system for the first time the other day and am trying learn it. Hopefully by the end of tomorrow, I will have figured out how to access the voice mail and check the mailbox type.

One thing is that the voice mail problem began suddenly. They have had issues with this system and have had to reboot it several times to clear various problems. The voice mail problem was just discovered, and I am not sure if it was after a reboot or not. Any idea how it might have reverted to announce only? If that turns out to be the problem, is there any way to keep this from reoccurring?

If you could check the software level of your iPECS, it would be appreciated.
Do like this: From any keyset or LG phone with display: [Trans/Pgm] +72. Please post the result here in the forum.

in PGM127 "Station VM Atributes" check if Announce Only Mailbox is enabled.

Thank you both. I will try your ideas xs650, and get back with the version number doktor. If I need any more help than this, I will get back to you here.

I found the version. It is an MFIM/VD95M-E, 5Db.
PGM127 takes me to pgm12 (ring tone) and changes the ring to #7.
Where can I find a chart telling me which system & version this is?

you can read it like this:

VD=your country code (no idea what VD is...)
95=MFIM100 (92=MFIM50A, 93=50B, 96=300, 97=600, 98=1200)
M=office Version (N=hotel version)
E5Db= software version 5.5DB

greetings
xs

OK, thank you for the version info. Any idea what is causing the problem with 5.5db software?
