Hi All,
I am trying to set up VM to Email and having no luck.
I have used PGM 111-113 buttons 54 and 55 respectively and entered:
VSF MSG - SMTP Mail Server Address: mail.example.com
VSF MSG - User Mail Address: person@example.com

I guess I am missing something-what is it?

Any help gratefully appreciated,

Thanks in advance,

Stu

Normally you just set these two "items" up and it works.
But there could be issue if your exchange (Outlook) allow sending mail from a "no_reply" or not validated mail account.

In other systems you should set: (systems settings)

SMTP Mail Server Address:
smtp.mail.example.com or IP address of the mailserver

and

Sending ("no_reply" or not validated) mail account:
noreply_ipecs_mail@example.com

For the users set:

person@example.com

Check PGM111 BTN 24:

When e-mail notification of a new VSF/VMIM
message is enabled, (PGM 236-btn 7) the email
may include the voice mail as a wav file
attachment.
UMS mail server IP (PGM 113- btn18)
UMS Mail Address(PGM 113-btn19)
are required for proper operation.

Comments for PGM113 - btn 18:
The VMIM includes notification of new
messages to the user’s e-mail. This field
displays the user’s e-mail mail server for the
notification. Use Web Admin PGM CODE 132 to
modify this value.

Comments for PGM113 - btn 19:
The VMIM includes notification of new
messages to the user’s e-mail. This field
displays the e-mail address to notify when a new
message is received at the VMIM. Use Web
Admin to modify this value

Comments for PGM132 - btn 6:
VSF/VMIM e-mail address for Mailbox Mail
Sending.

Comments for PGM236 - btn 7:
Enables outbound notification by the system
when the VMIM/VSF has unheard messages.

Also:

Comments for PGM113 - btn 23:
The VSF and VMIM include notification of new
messages to the user’s voice mail. This field
defines the user’s ID to notify when a new
message is received at the VSF or VMIM.

Summary:

When e-mail notification of a new VSF/VMIM
message is enabled (PGM 236-btn 7), the e-mail
may include the voice mail as a wav file attachment.
UMS mail server IP (PGM 113-18) & UMS Mail
Address (PGM 113-19) are required for proper
operation.

More summary:

System automatically sends e-mail to notify user of new voice message.
Conditions
1. The voice message is stored in the VMIM/VSF as well as being attached to the e-mail. The
voice message must be expressly deleted from the VMIM/VSF even if the e-mail is deleted.
2. The e-mail is sent to the address assigned for the station with the “sender” address defined for
the VMIM/VSF. Note the latter is required, as many e-mail servers will reject anonymous emails.
3. The e-mail address for the VMIM/VSF and the station is defined under the Web Admin.
4. In Admin, VSF is used as the single reference for a parameter that applies to both the VSF and
the VMIM.
5. The Voice message can be attached to the e-mail notification as a .wav file, if the Attach
Message option (PGM 111) is enabled. If disabled, the notification e-mail does not include an
attached wav file.
Programming
STATION 1. UMS Mail Sever IP address (PGM 113-Btn 18)
2. UMS e-mail address (PGM 113-Btn 19)
3. UMS Attach Message (PGM 111-Btn 24)
BOARD 1. UMS Sender Mail Address (PGM 132-Btn 6)

Hi Doktor,

The S/W version is 5.0GS.
Thanks for the above information.
I will be looking at the setup and I will be trying your suggestions tomorrow and will report back.

Regards,

A better offer for your studies of this issue would be to download the manual (iPECS 5.5) for Let yor browser translate from Russian laguage to English.
I made a download of this manual and made a search for notification and /or email and got all the programming parts needed for the VMIB/VSF email notification.
Pls, download, test and report back...

IPECS Voice Mail to Email – VSF/VMIM

PGM 111-113

Option 54 - UMS MSG - SMTP Mail Server Address is the Servers Public/Private IP Address

Option 55 - UMS User Mail Address is the Personal Users Email address

Option 66 - UMS MSG SMTP Mail Server ID - Server Login / User Name

Option 67 - UMS MSG SMTP Mail Server Password - Server Password

Also check that PGM 102/103 has a Gateway IP Address

Have found that some SMTP servers reject unknown emails (addresses)
PGM 132 Board Base Data for the VSF/VMIM
UMS Sender Mail Address is needed eg. Voicemail@xyz.com

Also PGM 111-113 option 72 – UMS MSG Attach = ON
This allows the .wav file to be attached and sent

Have also some SMTP Servers do not require/have a Login Name or Password

Hope this helps
Regards
Steve

Thanks for all the help help guys.

Apologies for late reply
Kind Regards
Stu

“Patience, n. A minor form of dispair, disguised as a virtue.”

I have recently upgraded to 5.0Gs, there is an option in Station Attributes which I hadn't noticed before to delete the message from the voicemail box once the email is sent.

I have this set and it seem to work, as the email arrives in my inbox, and when I check the voicemail box on the phone, it says that there are no messages.

This is option 76 in PGM111-113 in the web interface. "VSF MSG - Delete Message"

Could I ask a voicemail question?
I have an ACD group which I would like to be answered by a voicemail if not answered after 20sec.

Currently I have set PGM190/191 group 659 as VSF VM Group. and set acd group 620 "Overflow destination" to "659", "Overflow timer" to "20" and "VSF Wait Station" to "102" which is the voicemail box with the outgoing message set.

Is this the recommended way to do this?
How would I vary which outgoing message is heard according to day/night rules?

I would prefer if at night, the phones didn't go straight to night voicemail, I would prefer the ACD group to still ring before going to voicemail. Do I need to set up another call group identical to the first with a different "VSF wait station" set to a different extension with a different outgoing message? or is there a better way to do this where the night messages end up in the same voicemail box as the day messages?

thanks,
Oli.

Please can someone tell me how to edit posts?

I can't see an edit link anywhere.

I meant to post that question in the other thread about voicemail.
Sorry for the cross topic.

thanks,
Oli.
