So I have IPECS lg-ericsson lip 8012e station at work, and im hoping someone can help me, one of the guys at work has been messing with my phone, and now the mute button keeps flashing, he thinks its hilarious and wont tell me how to fix it, so if you know how to fix it and if you know how I can pay him back also that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi hooky75,

Are you able to make/receive calls?

Kind regards,
Wishforall

Hi Wishforall
I can still make and recieve calls as normal, it doesn't seem to affect the phone, just blinks at me.

Hi again,

The Class of Service (COS) Down feature has been inadvertently activated locking the phone until it is reversed.

To Lock the phone Dial Trans/PGM 21 from the handset.

To Unlock the phone and restore the stations original COS

Dial Trans/PGM 22 + Station Auth code

This is the only time I have seen the mute key flash, normally you would get access denied When trying to dial out. You COS might be set up wrong. You station access code is normally you VM password.

King regards,
Wish for all

The problem occurs when a user puts in the wrong Auth code a few times. The system then puts the user’s COS out of service temporarily.
If the station does not have an Auth code yet, set up an auth code for the affected station e.g. station 7234 with WebAdmin or from operator’s terminal with programming rights – e.g. (Station Auth code) 1234

Press the following sequence on the affected station: Trans/PGM 2 + 2 + 7234 + Auth code(1234) Hold/Save
Trans/PGM 2+2 means COS Restore
Original COS Restored

MUTE should stop flashing.

Thank you rsatech, i get acces denied when trying to dial out, but unfortunately i dont have the access code he changed it on me so i couldnt get him back, but he is trying to work out hiw to remove his station from receiving incoming calls direct when the receptionists are busy or have not answered, maybe if you know how i can do that i might be able to trade him the info for the auth code, then my plan would be to change the auth code and do the same to his phone, bahahaha.
