Hi All,

Long time lurker first time poster! I have recently replaced our panasonic system with a IPECS50B system, so far i am very impressed with the IPECS system it has a simply fantastic feature set that makes the systems ive come from look incredibly outdated!

The provider we got the system with provided a basic training course, nothing fancy it was a half day course in installation and basic configuration and as a result i have the system in working mostly as i would expect (i.e incoming calls are being routed to the Station Group and if nobody answers within x time its routing to ext 100's voice mailbox (this is one of my questions)).

We had on the panasonic system the Day / Night mode which would switch the Automated Attendant and Call Routing destination, i have found this under PRG 251 and i had setup times and dates as i would expect (i also recorded the VSF greetings aswell). What im struggling with however is when i enable the scenario, the greeting plays but as soon as the greeting finishes it seems to wait for a keypad input and if it doesnt you hear the audio prompt and the call drops.

So my question is as follows:

1. In relation to "Station Groups" how do you setup a group mailbox? The "Reception Phones" group is 620 and is set as follows:
Group Type : Ring Group
Pick-up Attribute : OFF
Overflow Destination is set to STA 100

Station Group 621 is set as:
Group Type : VSF VM Group
Pick-up Attribute : OFF

At present Ext. 103-105 are members of 620 and i have a flex button set to dial 621, when someone leaves a VM the lamp does flash and people are able to retrieve voicemails fine.

2. In relation to the automated attendant, i want to be able to have the following:
Normal Business Hours: Phone picked up by the System which plays a greeting (VSF 001) at the end of the greeting the call is routed to group 620
Im unable to figure out how i do this properly in the System Call Routing Programming menu, i had set it to the below but i get the prompt that nothing was pressed and the call was dropped:
Index Caller ID Called Num Time Destination Priority Active VMID COS DISA Active ICM Grp Zone CO line Group Zone Holiday
0-0 MON TUE WED THU FRI 0800-1730 VSF 1 9 ON 0 OFF 0 0 0 0

Out of hours i would like the System to answer the call, play a greeting (VSF 002) at the end forward to a Voice mailbox (STA 100 perhaps unless a group mailbox can be setup).

Thanks for any help in advance!

Half a day is a little less to understand all the feature, I think.

1.Group mailbox is easy to program, just program a flex button with the VSF VM group plus the station number on a flex button.
In your case you can set the overflow destination of ring group 620 to vsf vm group 621 and the VSF Wait Station
to a station which you want to use as group mailbox station.

Lets say we use the dummy station 199 for this.
Give station 199 an AC code in PGM227 and use it as VSF Wait Station in ring group 620.
On the station 103-105 program a flex button with 621+199, so everytime someone leaves a message on the mailbox of station 199 these buttons are flashing. For security reasons you always have to enter station no and password when you want to listen to these messages.

2.I think there can be different ways, so here is just one possibility.
Day
-Route the DDI in PGM2321 to your vsf anno 001.
-in PGM167 set the error destination to attendant ring assignment
-in PGM 144 set the day destination to hunt group 620
Night
-Route the DDI in PGM2321 to your vsf anno 001.
-in PGM167 set the error destination to attendant ring assignment
-in PGM 144 set the night destination to station 100 or your group mailbox station 199

Hi XS650,

Thanks for the help, i have item one completely working now thanks to your help.

In item two i have 167 and 144 set above, but i cannot find PGM2321; i am the below updates at the moment.
MFIM/GS93M-6.0Dc FEB/14
Boot Version-2.1Aa NOV/12
Kernel Version-6.0Ap

What is the name of the menu item ?

sorry, I mean PGM231 flex did conversion table

PGM231 - very important!
This is the flexible DDI number table...
Use this way to install the DDI table:
Button 3 - Clear DataBase.
Button 2 - Restore Default DataBase.
Button 1 - Create a DDI number.

The DDI number can have up to 9 different answer positions, and these can be answered in Day, Night or weekend "places":
The DDI-nummer (000-999) should be entered first.

With Button 1-5 you can enter the following data:

Button 1: DID name,
Button 2: Day answer position.
Button 3: Night answer position
Button 4: Weekend answer position.
Button 5: Reroute Destination.

Each of the 3 answer positions (time answer positions) can
have one of these 9 answer places:

1. Extension (station) number.
2. Grouppenumber. (PGM190/191).
3. VMIB (voice message) (00-70).
4. VMIB (voice message)with hang up (00-70).
5. Speed dialling number (2000 - 3499).
6. Internal paging(01-10).
7. External paging (1-3).
8. Internal and external paging (1-3).
9. Network number in VoIP solutions.

This will work for you!

and here are the missing answer positions[wink]

10.VM
11.ICLID Table
12.Company Directory
13.Record VM Greeting
14.Confroom
15.PABX (whatever this is???)

Yeah. Mine might be a bit outdated, but still the functionality is the same.
15. PABX - is a tie line toward another telephony system.

@doctor
do you maybe know the difference between net station number and PABX in PGM231?
When I choose net station number and put in there a station number from a subsystem
the call is routed to the subsystem but what do I have to put in when I set it to PABX?
A station number is not working and makes no sense cause net station is still available.

Jow.
The net station number is an extesnion number in an LG IP networked system.
We have builded some systems with ipLDK-24 and ipLDK-100/300 (and of course iPECS) before.

The PABX setting should route the call - like a speed dialling number - to a non-LG PBX.

If you want to bypass the password prompt on your voice mail, Program the button as numbering plan 621 stano password, this will program a group mailbox to the button as xs680 has said, however there will be no prompting for a password.

in some configurations you may also need to stipulate the wait station password (the station authorization code, or voice mail password) in the attributes of 620.

Hi All apologies for delay in replying.

I thought i had set it how i thought but it appears im still missing something, after setting all the options when i ring i just get routed directly to Group 620;

Below are the options i set as per above:

It sounds to me like i need to set another option somewhere in order to tell the system to use the mode ?

On all the phones (including phontage) they appear with a (T) at the end:

Is this anything significant ?

Nah, the T means Terminal mode i think, where the phone rings for DID or ICM and awaits a pickup, you also have the H mode which means Hands-Free. Phone rings and auto-answers to speaker. T is generally what you are after.

With a MFIM50B, because its a ISND system, you may have your co's in 141 (co range) i would say you have it set for DID. When the co is set for DID it follows the MSN/DID path. You need to configure your incoming cli numbers in the msn table, map them to a DID index and configure the destination in the DID index to goto hunt 620.

Cheers
Scobber

Thanks for all your help, i still havent gotten to the bottom of this; I switched line modes and everything to DID and just seem to ring directly through to the hunt group on both ocasions.

The only rules it seems to be adhering to is the system call routing on pgm 251; I wonder is it possible to just use this instead ? We could simply change our VSF greeting to something like this:

During the Day: "[Initial Greeting]... Press 1 for x or Press 2 if you know the extension of the person you wish to speak with" (if they press 1 it rings hunt group 620) (if 2 then another VSF Greeting perhaps "Please enter the extension number now")

At Night: "[Initial Greeting]... Press 1 for Opening hours (goes to another VSF Greeting and then drop) Press 2 for x (redirect to System Speed Dial Number?)"

Is this at all possible with the System Call Routing and where are all these options set ?

I think this can be done via system call routing or flex did conversion table.
The system call routing is the first thing that is checked when a call comes in, than the MSN table and than
the flex did conversion table.

Here is the way with the flex did conversion table:
-route the did in day mode to VSF 5 (for example) and in night mode to VSF 6 (for example).
-VSF 5 and VSF 6 should be recorded on the phone or importet before.
-In PGM228 CCR Table you tell the system what it shall do when the caller presses 1,2,3 etc
-In PGM228 program index 5 for VSF 5 and index 6 for VSF 6
-set in PGM228 index 5 the destination 1 to station group 620 and the destination 2 to the company directory
Attention: I think your "Pls enter the station number now." is not possible here but you can search in the company directory.
-set in PGM228 index 6 the destination 1 to the VSF with the working hours and the destination 2 to the
speed dial number.

Hi xs650,

This is now working with the configuration you supplied above!

My only question is around if someone doesn't select an input, is it possible to then say well during the day route to station group 620 anyway and at night simply drop the call ?

-when nobody selects an input the call can be routed to the error position.
-when it is set to ATD the call is routed according to PGM144 and there you can select
a hunt group or an empty announcement with auto drop.

Thats great, it seems to be working; However the system goes "Time has expired, please try again" 3 times but on the third time it does not replay the VSF greeting and preforms the action (during the day goto 620 or at night drop the call).

Is there a way so that it only plays the VSF once and then preforms the action (depending on day or night) if the person doesnt press a key ?

Disa retry counter in pgm 160. Change to zero or one, whichever is lowest value. Should be the 4th or 5th option down from the top.

Ok, Press Trans *#..... TRANS/PGM..... the transfer key?.......sigh!
