Hi all, when I go to the cmd prompt in run, and type in ipconfig /all, it flashes for a second and then it disappears.

Does anyone know how to rectify this?

Cheers

Are you sure you're doing it at a CMD prompt. If you run it from W7 search bar, it will flash for a second. If you type CMD in the search bar, then right click (run as administrator) on CMD, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't behave normally.

Because that is what ALL command line calls do when invoked from the Run... dialogue.

The command runs, then closes if it doesn't need to wait for input.

Well, the OP didn't say how they were running the command but it SOUNDS like they were doing from the RUN or SEARCH box. I guess we have to wait for them to confirm.................

Are you opening a command prompt window with Start -> Run... -> cmd <return> THEN typing the command line in that window?

No chris, I'm clicking start/Run, then typing in ipconfig /all!

That is why it is closing as soon as the command completes.

You realize (ChrisHirst) that you have been about three steps behind in this thread the whole way.

My first post in this thread says EXACTLY what you are doing and WHY you see what you do!
