IP500V2 Help after Factory Reset 1

I have worked on other manufacturers' phone systems and never experienced something so stupid as this. I got this system from local auction with phone, I have an IPO IP500V2 CONTROL UNIT - PCS16 - FK SN 1371147461 with a module of DS (1-6) 700504556 was booting up and recognizing my phones 2420 and 6402D, but I could not make intercom calls as it was saying, I think. No user. At the time, I had no access to the system web IP or even the management software. So, looking on YouTube, I found that you can factory reset the device and get the IP to a default. Well, I did so not knowing anything about licensing of any kind, it seems this is the first system that I have dealt with that has something like this.

Now I can access the system via management software, and IP says that I have version 9.1.600. But now all my phones say no license and in basic mode It says that they are barred.
Not knowing that I should of made a backup of the card before doing this reset. How can I get this back working? The SD card did have a backup folder, but as I replaced it as the primary folder, as some have suggested, I still have the same issues.

All I'm trying to do is get this system back up and running as a demo to test the following phones. 2024, 6408D+, 6402D, 9650's
I just need to do a simple intercom and access the analog phone line in the module.
Looking at the forms, it seems that I'm missing an Essential License to make anything work. I would have thought this would be part of the module and not something virtual.
Is there any way of getting this back?

You should be able to get the digital phones to come up in BASIC mode without the licenses. If you did a factory reset without doing a backup first or copying your license files if they were still ADI ( not PLDS), you most likely lost your ADI/ PLDS licenses which can't be recovered. Those licenses are required to make IP sets work and Essential edition work. I think the only way to remedy your issue now is to re-purchase new licenses.

I've learned the hard way to do my homework before resetting any kit - and it is not just Avaya.

Digital and analogue phones should in Basic mode though I've not used those models.

I assume you have a VCM card for IP phones which will no longer work but I recall you get 6 'free' SIP channels.

Yes, I didn't know I needed to back things up and just factory reset the device. I have it set to basic now, but all the phones are saying BARRED, I cannot find any location to enter a license code. I have the SD card that came with the unit that seemed to work before.. its a FK SN 1371147461 Is there not a way to get the original default license coded that would of come with this unit.

You need to engage with a partner. If you have been editing the SD card it will probably need to be formatted and recreated. (With the Manager app)

Noi idea why you would want to demo such outdated phones but each to their own.

A partner who knows what they are doing should be able to recover the ADI licences for you

When I say demo. I need it for testing as I get some phones in to resale as a side thing and also setup a intercom for the house to shop and some other rooms in the house.

So a partner is the only way to get the ADI licensee you know of. I was hoping just using something like basic would take care of that and the a normal license would be hardcoded in the system or SDcard. I haven’t formatted it, could there be a way to recover files before the default reset procedure.

basic will give you the digit phones but not much else. I sent you an IM

If you realy need basic options with those pre-historic phones the only chance (IMHO) is to roll back to R7.0 release which is the last where the ESSENTIAL edition license was autogenerated for free, all depends on the system history (the release which was initiated with).

How can I find out more about what this unit initially came with?
Will R7.0 support all the phones I have: 2024, 6408D+, 6402D, 9650's.
Seems like the document about 9.0 only supported the 2024 phones. But before i reset the unit it at least seemed to recognize the 64xx phones.

Is it just as good to get an SD card on eBay that has the essential license? What version will this unit max out at, and what would I gain?
Thanks to everyone who has added information to this post. This information is better than what I have found on the web and YouTube.

"Is it just as good to get an SD card on eBay that has the essential license?"

Sure. The license validates against the SD not the box, so if you can find an SD card with the license file/keys that will be fine. If you shop around you may even find one with a later release license that will allow you to go up to the latest firmware.

It is rather a lucky dip on Ebay as most are sold without any info but you are likely to get an Essential license as Basic edition doesn't seem to be very popular,

So, I was digging around on the SD card and found the following file. In the /Backup/WebManagement/test/xml/license.xml = See the attached file.
When I load these in as ADI, I get the following licenses and Status as:
CT Link Pro - Invalid
Unused (1) - Invalid
Software Upgrade 5 (R8.0) - Obsolete

The XML file shows the dates as 2097/15/31.
So why are they not valid, especially since these were on the card installed in the unit?
Are there any other files or locations where I could pull the original Essential license from the card?

This doesn’t look like a license file. I could think of it as a file that is used to display the licenses in WebManagement

Digging in the files for IP Office Manager installed on my PC I find exactly the same file, so its licenses specific to your system. The folder name 'test' is probably the biggest clue that its something used for software testing.
