well.. .I'm sure many of you have seen this already..
am on RDP now to the site and have finally got the system to take the 6.0.14 binaries.
Had checked the size of config.cfg file as per release doc, apparently if it's 0 bytes then a reboot will render system default.. much like it is now from a power outage.
Initially the config.cfg file showed as 17Kb, but later has shown as 0 bytes as described.
Initially doing Manager upgrade of SD card failed, first IP500V2 bin got to 50% and stopped, all other bins failed.
Last attempt which has worked with the 6.0.14 being transferred and checked OK..
I deselected the options at the bottom of UpgradeWiz, backup and upload system files check boxes.
But system hasn't taken it.. still 6.0.8.
Looks like a site visit tomorrow, reformat SD card etc. has this been narrowed down further than the buggy 6.0.14?
Got some awesome reboot stories from a CCC to CCR upgrade to 6.0.14 over the weekend!!

What you can try is to disactivate the SD card from manager or SSA and then activate it again.
Sometimes it will come back.
Then send back a config which you should have made after the install or change :)

If that does not work then a format with manager is required.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

indeed, this is down to your SD card going into read only mode. I had a site do this every now and then. reseating the card was the only working option.

once done, upload a backup of the config and its fixed forever. (touch wood)

Not true.
The only solution is upgrading to 6.0.14.

Cool.. thought as much. :)
I got it wrong about taking the 6.0.14 bins.. it said it did, but on refresh post upgrade it was still at 6.0.8.
It would stand to reason that being in a read only mode, that nothin was going onto the card! ha.

I had fingers crossed doing the deactivate thing.. they were kind of running in default config (only small office with basic AA)
but then the SD card didn't come back to life. And i gave up remotely just after midnight!

How on earth did this sort of thing not come up in beta site testing etc?

All good, site back up now. actually got another tech to replace SD card, and put config back in from RDP after upgrading manager to 6.0.14.

If it does goes in read only mode then being remote will not help you.
You need to format the card and recreate it.
A little tip, always carry a spare SD card.
If there is a faulty one then you only need to swap the licenses and put a config on it.

ha! yep... finally got round to gettin back on here!
I see your profile survived! I never heard back why mine stopped?! very odd...
Anywho, hopefully I can add some pearls of wisdom from the avaya odd ball world in the south pacific....

We seem to be a little behind the times compared with you guys in the northern hemisphere.. all our problems seem to have already happened well in advance. :)

BTW, did you see the big earthquake that hit Christchurch last weekend? 7.1 . made quite a mess.
I've remoted into a couple of sites that are in the cordon area of the city, and they're still going. not sure if the other walls around the system are still there though?!

I used to visit CHCH frequently for business.... one of my fav cafes is Java on columbo st.... hope thats ok!
