I have 2 networks, one has a Comcast Business internet with a Static IP
The other is a Comcast residential with a dynamic IP

On the Avaya IP500 embedded voicemail I have the SMTP set to:

SMTP.comcast.net
Port 25
Email From Address VM@ipoffice.com

It works great on the Static account but not at all on the dynamic.
I also have a system running VM Pro that has the same problem.
I have also tried using ports 587 and 465.

Anyone else have this problem
Jim

VM to Email is the bane of my existence, great when it works but sometimes (most times) a real pain. My only thought is that the Business Internet supports anonymous sending whereas the residential does not. It's also possible the residential may use a different FQDN such as mail.comcast.net. If you've got it working I would just be happy and leave it.

We typically use a fresh gmail account for voicemail to email and it works great. The only issues I ever run into is lessecureapps not being turned on (gmail will turn it off automatically if not used recently enough) or if someone tries to use the same account for multiple systems then it will lock the account because of multiple IPs trying to log in.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
