Hey, all. I've been using the Tek-Tip forums for a while now, and they've definitely been helpful, but I'm stumped on this one.
One of my customers has an IP500 on firmware version 4.1.9. They've got an Analog Trunk 4 card with 3 analog lines. However, instead of using your normal Call Appearance buttons, they opted to use Line Appearance buttons instead.
The call route is fairly simple -- all incoming calls go to their front desk phone. However, all the phones in the office have Line Appearance buttons, so therefore they ring as well. When no one picks up, it goes to that phone's mailbox.
However, we're running into an issue where occasionally if multiple lines are taken, the front desk phone begins getting abbreviated rings, and does not stop even if there are no more calls coming in. The only way they've found to remedy this is to unplug the phone and then plug it back in. This phone has 4 Call Appearances, which are used for transferring/calling internal extensions, and then the 3 Line Appearances.
Now, the obvious answer would be that it's being caused by a lack of a ground to the system. We weren't able to pull a ground prior to installation. However, I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem as well.
Thanks in advance for any input!
